We Are ASTAR Pilots Who Fly Roughly Half of All DHL Freight In North America!

The proposed agreement between DHL and UPS will give all of DHL's air cargo operations to UPS--one of its main competitors.  This would effectively end two companies with deep roots in Ohio: Astar Air Cargo, and Airborne Express (ABX).

Should this deal go through, 10,000 American workers will lose their jobs and entire communities will be devastated in southern Ohio. The proposed deal between may also violate antitrust legislation that was put in place to protect the American consumer.

This deal is taking place even though DHL has a 49% stake in Astar and in 2005, paid over $1 Billion to acquire ABX and the air cargo facility and airport in Wilmington – where most of DHL’s freight is sorted and shipped to North American destinations. Additionally, this agreement is completely different than the Fedex/USPS agreement; USPS is exempt from antitrust laws and the USPS only competes with FedEx  on about 1% of it business while DHL and UPS compete on about 100% of their business.
